City Gets To Work On Budget Deficit
The Dallas City Council got to work today on a budget that is facing a deficit of 130 million dollars.
The plan includes NO increase in the property tax rate…however 440 employees were put on notice that they will likely be laid off by October 1. Some on the city council would like to see those jobs saved with a property tax hike but Mayor Tom Leppert says the city needs to set an example.
Starting tonight there will be more than 30 town hall meetings throughout the city for you to voice your opinion on the budget.
