Governor Wants More Guards, President Wants More Graduates

Governor Perry did meet with President Obama but not for long. The actually meeting lasted less than a minute at the bottom of the steps of Air Force One.  Governor Perry wanted more, just like he wants more troops along the border. The idea that 286 National Guard Troops is somehow or other going to stem the flow of illegal drugs and illegal activity along the border on it’s face is a bit of a fraud.”  The Governor did hand a letter to the President asking for more troops and more Border Patrol agents.
The President meantime was talking higher education at UT Austin.  “We’ve got to lift graduation rates, we’ve got to prepare our graduates to succeed in this economy, we’ve got to make college more affordable, that’s how we’ll put a higher education within reach for anybody that’s willing to work for it.”  The President also challenged university presidents to keep costs down.

That time of the year again? They both are just blowing smoke for our votes. We need real troops, with real bullets, like they one invading our borders. We need to start doing what Germany has done for years.Start training our kids for a job when they reach the 9th grade. We have to many college grads who can not find a job, because all they have is book learning.
