Remember Rhett Butler telling Scarlett O’Hara how great she gorgeous she looked in her green dress when she tried to misle him out of some money. Well that same dress and other costumes from Gone With The Wind could be on display at the Harry Ransom Center at UT Austin…IF they can get 30 thousand dollars to repair them. Right now the costumes are too fragile to show, but with your help you might be able to have glimpse into the lens of one of the greatest movies of all time. The costumes have traveled all over the world, but costumes are generally meant to last only through the filming of the movie. The green dress, for example, has loose seams and needs structural reinforcements. Donations will be used to restore the dresses and buy protective housing and custom mannequins for the 2014 exhibit.
