The Public Utility Commission puts the state on yellow alert for power usage, urging conservation during the peak usage hours, which means the heat of the afternoon.  The PUC’s Terry Hadley says there is one thing that you can do that will save the most power, turn up your AC thermostat.  “We believe a temperature setting of 78 degrees is more that adequate to be comfortable in.”  Hadley says there is plenty of power right now.  This alert is a just in case move to make sure there isn’t a problem and to try to lessen the blow of what could be some sky high electric bills next month because of this months heat.  This isn’t just a one day warning.  It will stay in place for the next few days at least.
