Those closest to Fort Worth libraries may actually support the city manager’s call to shut down three branches. It’s part of the manager’s budget-cutting moves to eliminate a 73 million dollar shortfall. Now Library Director Gleniece Robinson supports the action. She says the other option would be to reduce hours even further, and that could mean the loss of state accreditation. Bunny Garnder, president of the Friends of the Fort Worth library says the closings may be painful but necessary. The branches recommended for closing are Meadowbrook, North Side and Ridglea.
