One High Court Denies the Judge of the Other High Court
The Texas Supreme Court denies an appeal for the presiding judge of its neighboring court. Court of Criminal Appeals Chief Justice Sharon Keller had appealed her public warning from the State Commission on Judicial Conduct saying that warning was unconstitutional. The Texas Supreme Court disagrees and isn’t granting that appeal. Keller was warned over the closing of the court that stopped a last minute appeal for death row inmate Michael Richard back in 2007. The paperwork for the appeal didn’t arrive at the court until a few minutes after 5 and weren’t allowed in. Richard was executed about an hour later.
