Whose the better driver?  Men?  or Women?  A New York City traffic study found that 80-percent of the crashes resulting in pedestrians being hurt or killed involved male drivers.   The report covers a 5 year period and confirms what insurance companies have known for years.
The severity of accidents involving men behind the wheel is also higher, although other studies have shown the “risk taking” gap between men and women is narrowing.
A spokeswoman for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says the numbers may be skewed a bit since men account for about 61% of the miles drive in the United States.
