This morning started off in the low 70s heading to a predicted high of 90 today, as North Texas continues to enjoy a period of mild temperatures following the brutal first 24 days of August.  Yesterday, DFW Airport’s thermometer topped out at 81, more than 25 degrees cooler than Monday’s high.  The National Weather Service expects clearing skies overnight, permitting temperatures to drop further.  Friday and Saturday morning lows in the mid-60s are likely in Dallas-Fort Worth while along the Red River, mercuries could dip into the 50s.
