It’s been a bad week for Ellis County drug dealers. It started Sunday when Ennis police found about 800 marijuana plants growing on some land behind a nursing home. That’s reported to be the largest seizure of its kind ever in the city limits. Then Tuesday, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office reported the discovery of 20-thousand marijuana plants in four fields in a rural area of the county. They put the street value of the dope at nearly ten-million dollars. And, also Tuesday, a state trooper pulled over a car on I-35 in Ellis County. A search turned up about 15 pounds of heroin that would fetch about a half-million dollars on the street. DPS says that’s the biggest heroin haul ever in Ellis County
