Cowboys make moves
So the Cowboys made a couple of moves today, and they are apparently not done. Patrick Crayton goes to the Chargers for a 7th rounder, that could move to a 6th if he catches at least 40 passes. I’m gonna miss Crayton, personally, because he was a blast in the locker room. Got a chance to BS with him for about ten minutes the other day about him still being a Cowboy, and, believe me….this hurts. He loves his Cowboys, but will get some action in San Diego with Vincent Jackson in suspension (and holding out). Crayton is/was a solid wide receiver, but there was obviously a financial decision made here as $2 million comes off the books.
It appears the decision has been made to keep Sam Hurd. He was the leading special teams tackler last year and, is another guy who made a play last night. Wade said today that jobs were won last night. I believe Kevin Ogletree saved his job last night and maybe Hurd as well.
Also, the Cowboys sent OL Pat McQuistan to the Dolphins today for an undisclosed pick…..probably a 7th and maybe a 6th. He had his run here and was never able to bust through.
The Cowboys will cut the roster to 53 tomorrow, and it will be interesting to see how the OL shakes down, and the secondary.
Talked to Dave Campo today who said he would like to keep 10 DB’s. He is in there making his case. Stephen Jones told me last night that they are looking to add a TE, and a Cowboys source said today that they are “not done making deals.”
