More and more wounded veterans are returning from Iraq and Afghanistan only to find they have no place to call their own. But, one Texas woman is marshaling the resources to help.
Meredith Iler has been a champion for people like Corporal Paul Gardner (pictured) who was injured when an insurgent shot him outside Baghdad. The bullet entered under his right arm and collapsed his lung, destroyed his spleen, and severed his spine. He was recently married and plans to pursue a career in photography.
