Study: Pool Chemicals Could Be Risky
Swimming may be great exercise, but the chemicals used to disinfect indoor pools may be putting swimmers at risk. Three studies have found substances in the water that form as a reaction between chlorine and organic matter in the water. Long-term exposure to the treated water have been linked to an increased risk of bladder cancer and potential lung damage. The studies have been published in the journal “Environmental Health Perspectives.” For more information, click here.
