The Texas Rangers have entered into a player development agreement with Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League, ending a 28-year relationship with Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City had been the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate since 1983.
Round Rock, which is owned by the family of new Rangers owner Nolan Ryan and is nicknamed the Express, had been the Triple-A affiliate for the Houston Astros since 2005.
“The Rangers are very happy to be entering this agreement with the Round Rock Express,” said Rangers general manager Jon Daniels. “Under the ownership and management of the Ryan Sanders Baseball, the Express have become one of the top affiliates in all the minor leagues. We look forward to a successful partnership.
