This is the 124th Texas State Fair which traces its lineage back to 1886. Today, it’s considered the biggest state fair in the nation in terms of attendance. As always, fair-goers will throng to the food booths to sample an astonishing array of deep fried concoctions, including Oreo cookies, candy bars, Twinkies, peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches, bacon and even banana splits. The State Fair runs for 24 days, ending on October 17th.
