That’s nearly a three-percent jump from August and five percent higher than the beginning of the year. Most of the price hikes come from produce and dairy. The world’s largest retailer has scaled back discounts because it wasn’t attracting more customers. The good news for a WalMart shopper is that their prices are still lower than other retailers that sell similar items like Kroger and Safeway.
