tax dl Dallas County Mails Property Tax Bills Early Dallas County property owners are going to begin getting their higher property tax bills soon.  Tax Assessor-Collector John R. Ames tells KRLD they began mailing the statements with the 1 and-a-half cent tax increase today. Ames says property owners will have roughly four months to pay their tax bill.  The tax office is encouraging those who might not be able to pay in full because of the economy to at least make some sort of payment.

    It’s a shame we still have to pay property taxes. I really wish the public would inform themselves of the FairTax organization and support it so we can get rid of pesky property taxes. At no time should the government have the right to seize “your” property for not paying taxes. Govt. officials should do more to trim their departments, have better oversight of their employees and get rid of the excess who sit at their desks doing minimal work. Most large corporations already run on a skeleton crew and the local and federal govt. should do the same. I’m sure they’d be surprised at just how much they would save.
