Perry Beats White, Wins Third Straight Term

AUSTIN (AP/CBSDFW.COM) – Republican Gov. Rick Perry has defeated Democrat Bill White to win a third four-year term as Texas governor.

Perry hammered hard all year on the theme that the Texas economy is better than many states and that hundreds of thousands of jobs have been created during his decade in office.

He also repeatedly criticized President Barack Obama and national Democrats and tried to link White to them.

White is the former Houston mayor. He kept his distance from the president and cast himself as an independent Democrat. He had claimed Perry had been governor too long and that he was using his office to reward his friends and campaign donors.

Even before the election, Perry held the record as the longest-serving Texas governor.  Perry is the first Texas governor to win three four-year terms.

Texas has no term limits for its governor.

We needed a change but didn’t get it. Now we have to tolerate an intolerant! We have met Perry, an arrogant man who is not willing to listen to suggestions. It;s Perry way or no way at all! Very disappointed! He will listen to use next time we visit the capital or we will camp outside of his office until he does!! We were turned off when he called a reporter a MO-FO. That is a redneck response, not the response of gentlemen! Amazing non native Texans can’t see through this arrogant man! WE WILL HOLD THE MO-FOs feet to the fire!

MOFO – You really need to have your head examined!!! He would be just as bad as Obama is for this country. We need to get that dumb ass out of office

Should we crown him now? I wonder how folks will feel as budgets for schools get slashed further for business as he has said he will do. Is it worth our children’s educations to swat at Mr Obama by putting this man in as our governor? Are we going to wise up and insist that he live in an apartment in Austin and not spend 10 grand monthly on that house he’s in till the gov’s mansion is restored? What a shame for Texas to be so short sighted. But hey, y’all got back really good at Mr Obama didn’t ya?
