ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – An Arlington woman made the spin of a lifetime and walked away the big winner on Friday’s The Price is Right. In the episode that aired on CBS 11 earlier today Kathryn Maynard won more than $50,000 in prizes in the Showcase.

CBS 11’s Selena Hernandez was there as Kathryn watched the show and re-lived her winning moment. “It definitely was so much fun! It’s an experience you can never imagine,” she said.

Friday morning, far from the Bob Barker Studio in Los Angeles, a live audience gathered in Arlington. Everyone was in suspense – expect one person. “I knew I was going to win,” said Kathryn. “I mean I knew I was going to be called.”

It was a trip Kathryn took back in September, with 25 of her friends and colleagues. But Kathryn says before she even left Texas she had a hunch.

Kathryn even went so far as to tell her husband she was coming back a winner. “He said ‘I got to go play golf. Just get your butt to L.A., win a car and get your butt home’.”

Kathryn didn’t disappoint. Her successful bid in Contestant’s Row landed her new office furniture. Then, after two spins in the Showcase Showdown, Kathryn cashed in with big bucks… winning $1,000 when her spin landed on the infamous $1.oo on the Big Wheel and getting top spot in the Showcase.

The items up for bid in the Showcase included a trip to New York, a photo shoot with famed fashion photographer Nigel Barker and of course… (drumroll) a new car!

All of Kathryn’s friends and colleagues did what they could to help her make the perfect bid. “They would just flash me how much they thought certain items were,” she recalled.

Kathryn’s friend, Joe Quartararo, says the show was all about Kathryn. “We were just there to support her 100-percent and she just made a dream come true for all of us.”

When all was said and done Kathryn came within $5,000 of the actual retail price of her Showcase. That was enough to make her the grand prizewinner and leave her with a priceless experience. “My husband gets a car!” she screamed, while jumping up and down on The Price is Right stage.

Kathryn says she was worried that wouldn’t be able to make the trip to Los Angeles. She was serving on a jury for a capital murder trial the week before her trip.

To the amusement of everyone in the courtroom, Kathryn tried to use her chance to be on The Price is Right as a way of getting out of serving, but the judge didn’t buy it.  When she got to Los Angeles, she told show producers she needed to be a contestant because the judge thought she was joking.  Friday, that judge was at her viewing party.

Now, Kathryn says she’s planning her next game show appearance – to “Let’s Make A Deal”.
