Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Antonio Margarito has been released from Methodist Hospital in Dallas today after he underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured orbital bone suffered in his loss to Manny Pacquiao on Saturday.
Margarito was the victim of a brutal attack by Pacquiao, who won in a unanimous decision to capture the WBC super welterweight title at Cowboys Stadium. His eyes were nearly closed shut by the end of the fight.
Margarito is scheduled to fly to Los Angeles after his release today. He had no damage to his right eye from the fight.
