IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) – The Cowboys are working through the late season problems of banged up players, and the focus of the pain was at inside linebacker today.   Bradie James (knee), Keith Brooking (foot) and Sean Lee (shoulder) are all spending their fair share of time with the trainers this week, but Jason Garrett said today that he is “no medical expert,”  but that Brooking and James looked good today and that Lee is coming along as well.  Gerald Sensabaugh (quad) and Orlando Scandrick (concussion) are also working their way back, and Marion Barber (calf) is probably going to miss another one this week which is good news to Tashard Choice fans.

Dez Bryant will be spending some time away from the team while he is on injured reserve as he is not allowed to take part in team meetings (NFL policy on IR) but Jason Garrett says it is not a concern.  Garrett also disagreed with the notion that Bryant has had trouble with the playbook.   “He’s smart and instinctive and we’ll keep working with him within the confines of the rules,” says Red.

It has been an interesting three weeks for Cowboys quarterback Stephen McGee as he has run the scout team all season, but the past three weeks, he has played the role of Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and now Michael Vick.  Garrett was asked to compare McGee to Vick…..”It’s kind of like Nolan Ryan vs. Tim Wakefield,”  said Garrett.  McGee got a good chuckle out of it saying, “Wow, that’s a pretty good comparison right there.  There’s no doubt Vick’s at a different level, so yea, there’s a little bit of a changeup there.”  McGee was awarded Scout Team Player of the Week for his recent efforts….if there really is such a thing.
