ADDISON (CBSDFW.COM) – New Year’s Eve is almost here, and if you’re hosting a party, you don’t want to get stuck in the kitchen.

CBS DFW has found some quick and easy new years dishes that can be party pleasers.

You’ll want to keep snacks and hors d’oeuvres simple – try party platters that you can prep ahead of time.

“It’s got a variety of meats, cheeses and pickled vegetables. Its great because you can actually make a big platter of it the night before, stick it in the fridge, put some plastic over it – when your friends come out, you can take it out and have everyone nosh on it,” says chef Kenny Bowers.

Bowers says meatball sliders are bite-size, portable snacks – and are the perfect addition to any party.  And that it all starts with a simple meatball recipe.  “I like to use fresh bread because it keeps the meatballs moist

Add milk and fresh basil – then stir in a meat mixture of ground beef and pork.

Scoop – shape and place on lined baking sheet. After about 20-minutes…they’re ready for the rolls.
