Passenger Killed After SUV Drives Into Bridge Pillar In South Dallas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The 21-year-old passenger in a Sport Utility Vehicle died Sunday morning after the driver sped into a concrete bridge pillar on northbound Interstate 35 in South Dallas.

Cedar Hill resident Eric McWhorter, 21, was killed upon impact when the SUV flew headfirst into the bridge while traveling northbound on Interstate 35 near Overton Road.

Kim Leach, Dallas County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman, said the driver was “travelling at a high rate of speed” and is in critical condition. He has not been identified.

There were no other vehicles involved in the accident, and Leach said it was too soon to tell if alcohol played a role.

That’s such a sad thing to happen I will be praying for that 21 year Eric Mcwhorter and his family . Will be praying for the driver that was driving that car I will be praying that God will put his healing hands on that driver . and also put his hands on Eric Mcwhorter family .

Eric, aka McWheezy, I’m so saddened by this loss-I just thought about you the other day and I should have hit u up when the thought first crossed my mind. I pray for both families as both kids were victims in this case. May God be with you all.
