Can Church Make You Fat?

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) – Can going to church make you fat?

New research found that young adults who attend weekly church activities are fifty-percent more likely to be obese by middle age.

Researchers at Northwestern University say it could be because of activities like church potlucks.  But North Texas weight consultant Alma Hall says faith has nothing to do with weight.

Previous studies have shown that religious people tend to live longer.  Hall says weight has much more to do with a healthy lifestyle than church attendance.

It probably has more to do with the life young people are living. Going to worship God does not make you fat. Not exercising and eating unhealthy things can make you fat.

  6. LOL says:

Errr God can make you fat? Bible states your not to over-indulge in anything which would mean eating too for good reason. Hit the pearly gates and try to explain how you got fat not obeying His wisdom, ohhh nooo were dooommmed!
