Students In Texas Hockey Brawl Face Discipline

FARMERS BRANCH (AP) – A disciplinary panel is considering punishment over a videotaped fight that left a player with a broken jaw during a club tournament hockey game in Dallas.

A closed hearing was held Tuesday night in Farmers Branch by officials with the Texas Amateur Hockey Association.

No decision was immediately announced on penalties over the March 27 brawl between Keller Hockey Varsity and Arlington Martin Warrior Varsity players. The youths face possible suspension related to the fight in which Keller won the Silver Division championship 9-3.

The teams, which use players from several high schools, are not sanctioned by the school districts or the University Interscholastic League.
