ARLINGTON (AP)  Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton has gone through a workout catching flyballs, throwing and running the bases. The reigning AL MVP says it’s the best he’s felt since breaking his upper right arm.

The pregame workout Tuesday came exactly two weeks after Hamilton got hurt when diving headfirst into home plate.

Even though Hamilton is still unable to fully swing the bat, he says he’s staying on top of everything he can until then. He is even taking some one-armed swings off a tee using his uninjured left arm.

Hamilton will stay home when the Rangers end their homestand Thursday and go to Oakland and Seattle. He says he’s skipping his first road trip because he can get more work done at Rangers Ballpark.
