DALLAS (AP) – The chief financial officer for Dallas schools has been named interim superintendent.
Dallas Independent School District trustees on Monday night selected Alan King to lead the district until a new superintendent is chosen.
King takes over for Michael Hinojosa, who on Sunday was named superintendent for the Cobb County, Ga., school district. Hinojosa’s last day with DISD will be June 30. He replaces retiring Superintendent Fred Sanderson.
KRLD’s Austin York Reports:
King will continue his financial duties for the Dallas district while school board members, facing budget challenges, search for a new superintendent.
King has been chief financial officer for the district since January, after serving as deputy superintendent for the Lewisville Independent School District.
