AUSTIN (AP) – Video game company Electronic Arts has decided to expand its EA Sports division and add about 300 jobs in Central Texas.
An announcement is scheduled Monday in Austin with Governor Rick Perry and company officials. EA currently employs about 450 people in the Austin area.
EA Games President Frank Gibeau told the Austin American-Statesman that the new jobs will include software engineers, game designers, artists, programmers and senior technical positions.
EA Sports is the developer behind games including “Madden NFL” and “FIFA Soccer.”
The company is based in Redwood City, Calif.
