DALLAS (AP) – The DeSoto School Board is set to discuss the future of the new superintendent who came from an Atlanta school system embroiled in allegations of widespread cheating on standardized tests.
Items on the Monday evening DeSoto ISD board’s agenda include addressing the employment of Kathy Augustine, who has denied having knowledge of test cheating when she was a deputy superintendent in Atlanta. The agenda says discussion will include a “possible voluntary exit agreement.”
Earlier this month, Augustine was put on paid administrative leave while the DeSoto district re-examined her time in the Atlanta system. She was hired in April for a salary of $188,000 a year.
