ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – The Rangers have had a number of popular players over the years, but very few have come close to the popularity of The Red Baron.

Rusty Greer, who arrived shortly after the doors opened at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington in 1994, spent all 9 years of his career in a Rangers uniform, and was known for his spectacular catches in the outfield while Josh Hamilton was still in high school.

And while he never hit for the power that some of his teammates over the years did, Rusty’s numbers have him listed in the all-time top 10 for runs, hits, batting average and total bases.

An all-around solid player, Greer was inducted in to the Rangers Hall of Fame in 2007, and for his efforts he’s now #4 on the 21 Best Rangers Ever list.
