DeSOTO (CBSDFW.COM) - DeSoto ISD says it’s moving forward after releasing details about the severance package given to former Superintendent Kathy Augustine.
On Friday, the DeSoto ISD school board released an email saying they had given Augustine a settlement amount in the equivalent of one year’s pay, or just over $156,000.
The email said the agreement goes into effect Saturday at midnight, and is not ‘a termination for cause.’
DeSoto’s acting superintendent, Levatta Levels, will now become the district’s interim superintendent.
Augustine, who came to DeSoto from the Atlanta, Georgia school district, has been at the center of a standardized test cheating investigation while serving as that district’s deputy superintendent.
