DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) – The test results are in for about 270 kids and teachers at Denton High School who were tested for tuberculosis.
Health officials say an “extremely small number” of people had a positive reaction to the skin test, but they won’t say how many because of privacy concerns.
A positive TB test show if someone has been exposed to the disease, but does not indicate if they have an active case.
The people who tested positive will go through more tests, including chest x-rays. The district says the students and staff who tested negative will be retested in 8-10 weeks to confirm their negative results.
