SAGINAW (CBSDFW.COM) – The death of Muammar Qaddafi has at least one North Texas family breathing a sigh of relief.
Saddyna Bellmashkan and her parents live in Saginaw. The family still has relatives in Libya.
Thursday morning the family got a phone call from a friend that Gahhafi had been captured. Their initial reaction..”Joy,” said Saddyna.
KRLD’s Phyllis Smith reports:
But when Bellmashkan heard he might be dead…her reaction changed a bit. Although she was happy at first, reports of his death leaves her with mixed feelings.
Bellmashkan says she hopes that the government that takes over in Libya will be a democratic one that allows for freedom of expression, religion and movement.
