DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Four days after his tragic death, Richardson ISD officials are remembering 9th grader Andrew Green as a happy, popular boy who was active in Young Life and loved to give his all on the football field.

On Saturday, he was killed crossing Skillman Street, trying to reach his cousin and his friend who had already made it to the other side of the road. Police say he was hit by a car and dragged, suffering fatal blunt force trauma to the head.

The driver never stopped.

Funeral services for Green, 14, will be held at the Highland Oaks Church at 10805 Walnut Hill Lane at 2 p.m. Saturday. His family is asking for assistance to cover the costs. An account has is set up at Chase Bank on Audelia Road under Green’s mother’s name, Tyrlonda Banks.

On Monday, Dallas Police asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver who killed Green. They still have no suspects in the case.
