NORMAN, OK (AP)  Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says he hopes a season-ending knee injury to All-American receiver Ryan Broyles won’t hurt him when it comes to the NFL draft or postseason awards.

Stoops said Tuesday that he thinks Broyles’ “body of work” should be enough to impress NFL general managers, even though Broyles likely won’t be recovered enough from a torn anterior cruciate ligament to go through pre-draft workouts.

Broyles is the NCAA record-holder with 349 career receptions and he ranks second all-time with 4,586 receiving yards. He currently ranks second in the nation in receiving yards per game and fourth in receptions.

Stoops says it’ll be difficult to replace Broyles not only as a versatile receiver but as the Big 12’s top punt returner.
