Dallas Head Shaving Video Sparks Homeless Woman Search

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Homeless advocates and Dallas police are trying to find a missing woman who, from all indications, hasn’t been seen since a disturbing internet video of her was posted online last month.

The video shows the woman being harassed, teased and slapped while two men, in a barbershop, shave her head and eyebrows.

[The video below consists of three cuts from the raw recording. CBS 11 News has removed the offensive language from the video.]

After some investigation, Dallas police found out the woman is known as Susie.

Police say the incident happened in a barbershop on Northwest Highway.

There were two men seen in the video and a third person taped the incident. Police say only one of the two people seen worked for the barbershop and has since been fired. The second person seen in the video wasn’t a barbershop employee.

At one point, one of the men makes a proposition. “I’m gonna go buy you a miniskirt, some high heels and you’re gonna make money for me, right?” he said to the woman.

Homeless advocates have joined the search for Susie.

David Timothy runs the SoupMobile, a non-profit, mobile soup kitchen, and is helping look for the woman.

“There does seem to be this feeling that these homeless are almost sub-human and it’s okay to beat up on them, or degrade them, or abuse them,” said Timothy.

Ultimately, Timothy said the actions of the people in the barbershop must be addressed “We’d like to see some accountability. “It’s totally degrading what they did to this woman,” he said. “We’d like to see that whoever did this be brought to justice and let other people know that it’s not okay to do this.”

Dallas police said they started looking for Susie more than a week ago, after they got a tip alerting them to the video.

It’s great that someone is finally looking for her. But with no picture it makes it hard for people to let the police know if they have seen her.

    1. R says:

We are dead allot longer than we are alive. These Jerks will pay for it in the end

  2. Gumby Rules says:

I wonder if the guy had a license…it should be revoked.

    1. Stu Gotz says:

His teeth, ribs, and legs should be “revoked”, if you catch my drift.

  3. s. smith says:

So sad, She had no who cared and they knew it……so vulnerable.

  4. Tami Miller Fischer says:

Sad to see that people think they are so much better than others to treat them that way. Except for the grace of God that could be them as well. What jerks!!

  5. DDT says:

I hope someone burns that GD barber shop to the ground.

  6. TNT says:

“Dallas police said they started looking for Susie more than a week ago, after they got a tip alerting them to the video.”

How about those geniuses in the DPD going after the guy who slapped her? That IS assault and battery, in case you dumb pigs forgot the basics of criminal law.

    1. bc says:

Totally agree. They’re on video, the owner knows the guy who rented the space and again they’re on video. If that were an elected official’s relative or friend, these guys would be behind bars 3 weeks ago.

    2. The Bhomas says:

Gotta have a victim first, you cop-hating ignoramus

      1. Atheist Lawyer says:

No you do not, when the offense is on the video. Consent to prosecute via the victim is an OPTION, you ignoramus.

      2. TNT says:

The lawyer is correct. There have been many assault cases where the victim decides not to prosecute, but law enforcement goes ahead with it anyway. Moron.

      3. bc says:

This has nothing to do with cops. It has everything to do with the politics. Ding dong.

      4. Really says:

…and the police aren’t controlled by politics? What planet do you live on?

      5. Hahn Jackson says:

no u dont.texas state law does not require it anymore bcs victims wud not come forward.so the state passed a law that says if the is a report made the DA must charge and if there is evidence the jury must convict.this case has it all

    3. 2sister says:

Just because the article doesn’t mention that they are looking for or prosecuting these criminals, it doesn’t meant they aren’t. They actually might have some or all of them in custody. The article does mention that one of them was a former employee of the barber shot. That implies the the police know who he is.

    4. Adam says:

Battery? I’m wondering where in the Texas Penal Code you would find that word. Also, The Bhomas is correct. Only Susie can say that the slap caused bodily injury or pain, but they need her to say it first.

Looks like you forgot the “basics,” which in all honesty, you probably learned from CSI.

      1. Hahn Jackson says:

adam when i was assaulted the criminal who did it tried to get me take my testimony back. The DA told me that even if i did take my testimony back they wud still proscute and get a conviction based on the evidence.

I’m seriously thinking about driving up and down NW Hwy until I figure out which shop this is. This is so disgusting I can’t even stand it. How scared she must have been! I hope to hear a follow up story on this that the guys got theirs.

  8. bc says:

These guys better be in hiding. Because if and when they’re found, it’s payback time. Absolutely appalling!

    1. DDT says:

I hope the payback is a SCALPING.

    2. 2sister says:

They may be in police custody. The article says that one was an employee and has been fired.

      1. 2sister says:

Actually, it says that this information came from the police.

  9. bc says:

I also hope that this is seen all the way through. I don’t want to think that this is a 2 day story to be forgotten in a week.

  10. FedUpTxn says:

Support the local homeless newspaper that helps the homeless help themselves, and learn how they became homeless and the challenges they face to get off the streets. Many falsely believe these are “throw away” people with no desire to work, drug addicts or alcoholics. The truth is, most are not. And if you think a homeless shelter is free, you’d be wrong as well. Many of these facilities have insane rules that actually prevent people from getting work or face no place to sleep. There are a million “Catch 22” situations these people face that eventually lead some to alcohol and drugs out of defeat. The police themselves are often just as brutal as anyone with little or no sympathy. “tis the season” to show love, compassion, and respect for every human being. Give them a hand up, not a hand out!

    1. bc says:

Thank you for your post. Well said.

      1. anne says:

Definitely well said and so very true!

  11. lp says:

Tis always the season to show love, compassion, and respect…especially to the homeless.

  12. viewer says:

I really get a kick out of all the “legal” experts that think they know law. TNT educate yourself before making stupid comments.

    1. TNT says:

Oh, I’m sorry, and WHERE was I incorrect? Quote the legal source in your reply.

    2. Colby Bauer says:

I think you need to have your quotes around EXPERTS, and not LEGAL. Just making sure everyone stays somewhat LITERATE on these comment boards.

  13. Michael David says:

there are many of us that would like to go “visit”

    1. Stu Gots says:

I’d like to go in there with about six beefy mafioso types in leather overcoats, lock the doors a la “A Bronx Tale”, turn and look at the barber shop guys, and say, “Now youse can’t leave.”

      1. 2sister says:

The problem with that is that the people working there when you went might be innocent of any wrong doing. The police have said that only one of the three was an employee, and he has been fired.

    3. 2sister says:

What if you went and :”visited” and hurt innocent people? Apparently, only one of the three people was an employee, and he has been fired.

  14. Colby Bauer says:

I hope the police are investigating the people involved in this case. All we see is what happened while the camera was on. Who knows if she made it out of that barber shop? Ever see that video of those asshats beating the homeless guy in the karate studio? It could have happened at the barber shop, too.

    1. 2sister says:

I’m sure they are investigating the people involved. They apparently know who at least one of them is. The article says that one was an employee who has been fired.

  15. GO NOW! says:

Hey, Occupy Dallas! Here’s a cause that will earn points! Get your butts over there!

  16. Brigitte Willson says:

I am a hairdresser too and if I find this person that had the nerve to do that, guess what buddy.. I can shave your caj…. ‘s too. Wouldn’t be pretty but you would be as bold as a baby’s butt. Pervert??? Are you a man or a coward???

  17. anonymous says:

seems like this isnt the first time they have made fun of homeless persons
