DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The sports world went wild this past weekend after the Los Angeles Lakers traded Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks. Odom helped the Lakers win two championships and was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year last season.

But there’s a whole other story here that has the entertainment world talking. The trade is going to bring more than a star basketball player to Big D. That’s right, Dallas is getting its very own Kardashian.

Khloe Kardashian – she’s the third sister in the family – married Odom in 2009. The couple has been featured in the vast array of Kardashian-related programming that infected the E! network starting in 2007. Odom has been most notably featured on “Khloe & Lamar,” a whole series that follows the couple’s misadventures. The program launched earlier this year.

Khloe has been very active on Twitter – as usual – to discuss the news with more than five million followers. At times she has expressed apprehension about the move, but she has mostly shared glad words and smiley emoticons. “We are all sad but positive energy gets you farther then negative,” Khloe tweeted.

Since that tweet, Khloe picked up her attitude a little bit and put her trust in God. “I know for a fact blessings are everywhere!!! Everything happens for a reason. God is great,” the Kardashian sister said. “I have no doubt about it! I am excited.”

Khloe even denied rumors that she somehow caused the trade to take place.

Meanwhile, Odom has not commented on the trade news. Former teammate Kobe Bryant on the other hand has expressed his total disappointment. “To be honest with you, I don’t like it,” he said. “It’s tough to lose Lamar.”

The second season of “Khloe & Lamar” is currently in production, so viewers will likely be given the chance to see the couple’s reactions to the trade, and their impending move to Dallas, unfold in front of cameras. Then, look for Kardashian-hunting paparazzi to invade the streets of Dallas, as the show will likely continue shooting in North Texas.

It has been rumored that Odom and Kardashian (ages 32 and 27, respectively) are trying to have a child, so Dallas could be an important chapter in the couple’s life together.

It is not yet known how the move to Dallas will impact “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” the family’s original reality show that is based in Los Angeles. Khloe did promise a Twitter fan that she would be traveling back and forth between her two home cities, but the show has also had spinoffs set in New York and Miami.

And there could be a ‘special episode’ that sends the entire K-obsessed Kardashian gaggle to Texas on vacation. Brace yourself for the storm, Dallas.

    2. Ron Bryant says:

you can have her.she’s a nobody to most.just a somebody to her husband Odom. She’s only on tv because mommy and daddy have big bucks.reality shows (like her and her sisters)are for rich losers that have nothing better to do with their time.

  2. Cedarhillactor says:

Ouch! What a trite and juvenile headline (what INTERN thought that was clever?) We used to write newsletter headlines like that in HIGH SCHOOL! Worse yet, who was the editor who thought THIS was newsworthy? It’s not gone unnoticed no one has attached their name to this piece of… fluff.

    1. Susan says:

His kolleagues thought it was kute.

  3. wendy says:

who gives a KRAP!!! Jeez, I can not stand this family!!

    1. cindy says:

If you can’t stand them why do you spend so much of your obviously valuble time reading and writing about them? Personally if I don’t like something I avoid it. What I can’t stant is all the people that think their opinion about everyone else is so important.

      1. Krusty The Klown says:

Cindy: Kind of of like what you’re doing NOW, you moron? BTW, it’s STAND, not STANT. Go back and get your GED.

      2. TNT says:

Take it easy on Cindy the Hillbilly. She’s probably on a Moon-Pie, Pall Mall, and Keystone Ice bender. I’m sure her life totally sucks as it is.

      3. Ron Bryant says:

cindy your opinion actually means nothing about everyone that has their own!

  4. Krusty The Klown says:

Add one more case of gonorrhea to the DFW area.

PSA for today: Don’t drink and type.

  7. TNT says:

The Kardashians (all of them) are the most ret@rded people on Planet Earth. They’re a perfect example of taking an otherwise obscure person or family and using a producer-driven cookie cutter TV formula to create a vapid “reality” show. They’re like a bad rash that won’t go away.

  8. CC says:

Khloe is the best one of the whole lot. I shudder at the thought of the rest of them ever coming to Dallas though.

  9. Buck Turgidson says:

Just what Dallas needs…a Kardashian. Please don’t come here! I’d like to see our image improved, not further tainted by a vapid, talentless, famous-for-no-reason “reality” star. I don’t want to have to fight through lines of paparazzi, TV cameras and gawkers anytime I go out for a drink. Stay away!

  10. Brig. Gen. Jack Ripper says:

I agree, General Turgidson. She’s a waste of precious bodily fluids.

  11. concerned citizen says:

Somebody please turn on the “NO VACANCIES” sign on!
    Ku Klux Kardahsian!

  12. FromLA2BigD says:

What’s the difference between the show “Dallas” and Kardashian shoes? Khloe is going to fit right in with trend setting Dallas women, known for their straight talk.
The real gig here is the caliber of basketball Mr. Odom will bring to the Maverick’s and vice versa. It’s a win-win so get ready for some basketball! Welcome to Dallas!

  13. Hootex says:

I know Lamar Odom. He’s a ballplayer, and a pretty good one. But I’ve never heard of his wife. Is she someone special? Does she impact public policy? Does she distribute Lamar’s money to worthy causes? Otherwise, why should I care?

  14. Susan says:

“Koming to Kowboy Kountry”….????? Good lord. Was this written by a couple of third graders? Where is your EDITOR??? Did your Kolleagues think this was Kute?
