LANCASTER (CBSDFW.COM) – Police are investigating an early morning shooting at a home in the 500 block of Rea Street that left two people dead.
Police say around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday they received a 911 call from the home. When authorities arrived, they found a 61-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son dead inside the house.
Lancaster Police say they are looking for multiple suspects in the case, and have not identified the victims.
According to witness’ statements, two men who lived in the house were about to leave for work around the time of the emergency call when someone pulled in behind them, kidnapped them at gunpoint, and took them to another location.
At that time, police believe more suspects went into the house and killed the mother and son. A 19-year-old woman and her 4 month old infant were also in the house, but were not hurt.
Police say that woman called 911.
By the time officers arrived the two men who were allegedly kidnapped had returned to the home.
Relatives said they’re in disbelief.
“We’ve lived as a close-knit family for many years and it’s hard for us to be dealing with this situation right now,” said Martha Galvan Pena, who is the niece of the woman murdered. “I can’t believe something like this could happen, someone can just walk into somebody’s house and do this. It’s just so unbelievable.”
The gunmen are still on the loose.
Police have not released any information on the suspects or a possible motive, but they believe this home was specifically targeted and that the violent incident was not a random act.
