FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – CBS 11 is deploying new technology in 2012 to keep you ahead of the storm. It’s called Mobile 11.
“The quality is far superior. The new stuff has high definition quality,” says CBS 11 stormchaser and photojournalist Jake Shannon.
Instead of using a live truck that you may see going down a road, CBS 11 photographers use the cutting edge technology that’s contained within a backpack. Using a cell phone connection, a photographer can send back video in real-time.
“It’s important because our viewers need to see for themselves, in real-time, what is actually happening versus somebody telling them what potentially could be going on,” according to Shannon.
And if you see severe weather happening and can safely take a picture, or video, we’d like to see it. You can e-mail your cell phone pictures and video to email@example.com. It might be used during our severe weather coverage.
If you need the most up-to-date weather forecast, it is always on at our website CBSDFW.com. Click on weather to see the seven day forecast and other information in the storm team blog.
