Man Killed In Shooting At Dallas DART Station

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Police in Dallas are trying to determine what led to a fatal shooting at a DART train station early Wednesday morning. The incident happened just after midnight at the Pearl Station, which closed for a few hours while an investigation was being conducted.

According to DART official Morgan Lyons, the incident began as an argument on-board a northbound Blue Line train. There were 20 passengers on that train when this was taking place. The victim exited the train at the Pearl Station and shots were fired from inside the train itself.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Dominique Wilson. He was rushed to Baylor Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police are now talking to three possible suspects and trying to figure out what started the initial argument. None of the other passengers on the train or at the station were injured.

The Pearl Station has since re-opened, in time for the morning rush of travelers.

There has been some violence on the DART system in the past, as recently as November. That is when a 19-year-old man was killed at the MLK Station near Fair Park, after several young teens beat him up and pushed him in front of a moving train. Arrests were made in that case and DART worked to beef up their security.
