BEDFORD (CBSDFW.COM) - A 12-year-old boy was reported missing in Bedford on Wednesday morning, but found safe in neighboring Hurst before an Amber Alert was ever called.
The boy has been identified as Robert Reynolds. According to Lt. Kirk Roberts with the Bedford Police Department, the boy was getting ready for school at about 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning at his home in the 1700 block of Haven Drive. He went into the family’s garage to put some school items — books and sporting equipment — into the car, but never returned. “Mom went outside to check on him, found his school items there by the vehicle,” Roberts said. “The vehicle was open, but he was nowhere around.”
Reynolds was located by a truancy officer at about 11:00 a.m. at the Northeast Mall in Hurst. He is now in the custody of the Hurst Police Department.
