DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A Duncanville City Council member is in hot water after he was arrested for indecent exposure at a Dallas spa.

58-year-old Scott Cannon was arrested in an undercover operation at the King Spa on Royal Lane Thursday in Dallas.

The Dallas Police Department issued a press release Saturday saying Cannon was arrested after he was ‘observed engaging in an act that constitutes indecent exposure.’

The release did not elaborate on what happened.

Cannon was charged with a Class B Misdemeanor, and taken to the Lew Sterrett Justice Center.   He has since bonded out.

According to Dallas County Court records, Cannon has a previous arrest on two counts of public lewdness in 1982.  He pleaded guilty to one of those counts, serving probation.

Cannon has been Duncanville’s District 2 councilman since 2003.  His city bio says he is a CPA and has been married for 30 years.

The website myduncanville.com reports Cannon submitted his resignation from his council seat Friday.

Hurry award some medals for this police work. Paid to sit on your butt and arrest johns at a massage parlor. If you call and report a theft they don’t investigate it.

Recently information that an Arlington city councilman had been using meth. Whatever happened to background checks on these folks who run for office? How about some standards that if you get caught breaking the law other then a traffic ticket you automatically lose your city council seat? Most employers fire an employee if there are found guilty of a crime. Should the standards for those in political office be any different?

a background check on someone that goes to a spa? do we know if his “public lewdness” was at a spa? you’re allowed to get naked at a spa. perhaps the news needs to get their facts straight as well so we dont jump to conclusions.

this makes no sense. king spa & sauna…that’s what you do there is get naked. they have a women’s side and a men’s side. in the area where the men and women are together you wear shorts. what’s the deal? did he wonder into an area that is not allowed? does not say that… did they bust all the other naked people in there too? the mayor pro tem said he needed prayer. maybe he needed a massage. thank you dpd for wasting our tax money on this “sting”

I’m sure he wasn’t arrested simply for being naked in the area of the spa where this is normal. He was bound to be engaging in some sort of sexual behavior, which is absolutely not what King Spa is about.

Peggy, I think you need to know something…there are some spas that give more then just massages…mmm…they give “special” massages. When the police hear about these places where men go for these “SPECIAL” massages they not only bust the people who work there but the folks who are paying for the “SPECIAL” massages.
The fact of the matter is the good citizens of Duncanville elected a fellow with a police record and they have a right to know if a person has had a history with the police in the past and present.

    1. DB says:

Of course there are places that give “special” massages. King Spa is not one of them. It’s a family-friendly place to relax and detox. Nudity is confined to the area with hot tubs, cold pool, and steam rooms. Men on one side, women on the other. Anyone going there to engage in any sort of sexual activity is in the wrong place.

Obviously they didn’t go in and arrest four men at a spa where everyone was naked. Common sense would tell you they must have done something in the communal area where nudity is not permitted. Cannon has had this kind of trouble in the past so it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put two and two together. As for the spa, from what I’ve read, it’s legit. The police were probably asked for their help due to complaints. The police don’t just respond to murders. They’re there to respond to anything consider illegal.
