Handcuffed Suspect Escapes Dallas Police

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A handcuffed suspect remained on the loose after he escaped arresting officers who interrupted an attempted burglary Saturday in Northeast Dallas, a spokesman said.

Dallas Police were called to 8401 Skillman St. at 1:55 p.m. after reports of a man brandishing a hatchet inside the complex.

Department spokesman Kevin Janse said officers stopped a burglary of a unit upon their arrival. They detained the suspect and called the owner, who was asked to return home and confirm whether the incident was a burglary.

While waiting for the resident to get back to his apartment, Janse said the suspect fled the scene while handcuffed. Officers called a K-9 unit, but the dog failed to find the man.

“Officers know who he is and an escape warrant will be issued for him,” Janse said.

He remained at large Saturday evening.

My business has been burglarized by the same man about NINE TIMES in the last 2 months. Dallas PD have name, photo, address of the suspect. The suspect has a lengthy record of arrests, warrants, you name it! Two days ago the cops came out to search and see if the guy would come back and he did… but tell me why my surveillance video shows the suspect walking right past the cops, WHILE THEY DO NOTHING! They had no explanation for me. Mistake? Who knows anymore.
