FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Bargain hunters lined up early outside of the Salvation Army’s Fort Worth warehouse on Friday. They came out hoping to be among the firsts to get inside for the annual garage sale.
The 50,000-square-foot warehouse was filled with merchandise.
Salvation Army Captain Mark Jacobs explained that the fundraiser, put together by the organization’s Ladies Auxiliary, will raise money for a good cause.
“People that are in crisis, people facing hardships, these are the people that benefit through the generosity of people who donate clothing and household items to the Salvation Army.”
Some of the items up for sale included furniture, jewelry, computers, clothes, books and housewares.
Shoppers began grabbing up items at 10 a.m. and the garage sale is open until 5 p.m.
The event is being held at the Salvation Army Warehouse, located at 229 E. Felix Street (exit 46A off of I-35W).
The Salvation Army is hoping to raise $40,000 during the event.
