ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – You’ll definitively be able to find your “Ice, Ice, Baby” in Arlington later next month.

To mark the grand opening of the new Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast Ride, Six Flags Over Texas is bringing in none other than performer Vanilla Ice.

North Texas’ own Robert Van Winkle, aka Vanilla Ice, will perform a Noon concert at Six Flags to celebrate the launch of the new ride.

Riders on Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast will travel backward through a tunnel and climb more than 200 feet in the air. Riders will be suspended at the peak height before repeating the process again.

The Vanilla Ice concert will be on May 12th and is open to everyone at the amusement park.

@ wasjustified , clearly your watching way too much. Try getting up off your butt and go outside for a change. LOL!

Why? Because I watch his show? Why don’t YOU try getting up off YOUR butt and go outside instead of sitting at your computer criticizing me?

This ride has been at Six Flags Arlington since at least 1998. I know this because that’s when I moved to Texas and first went to Six Flags. The only thing new is that they’ve apparently reversed the seating so that you start off going backwards and then end the ride moving forward.

It’s just plain sad that Six Flags is offering this as a new ride. But overall, it’s a pretty decent ride, very quick, the whole thing last about 20 seconds if that.
