FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – If you haven’t made plans for the 4th of July, the Red Headed Stranger has a picnic and some guitar pickin’ for you.

Billy Bob’s announced this afternoon that Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic is returning to the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The event had been “On The Road Again” since leaving the Stockyards in 2006.  Shotgun Willie brought the picnic back to Billy Bob’s last year to a sold out crowd.

There were no “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” that day.  It was a sweltering summer afternoon and evening with “Blue Skies” as North Texas baked during the heat wave.

But, half of the acts were inside Billy Bob’s giving music fans a chance to cool off.

“I like the sun, so I’ll take a little sun and go in for the air conditioning,” Liza Sparks told CBS 11’s Melissa Newton at the 2011 picnic.

This picnic will mark the 39th year Willie and his friends like, “Pancho and Lefty”, “Seven Spanish Angels” and “Highwayman” have entertained a holiday crowd.

Billy Bob’s says Nelson hasn’t announced this year’s lineup of artists.  However, early confirmations include Corey Smith, Whiskey Myers and Deadman.  The first artist takes the stage at noon on the 4th.

And if you’ve got the money, Willie’s got the time.  Tickets go on sale April 23rd at 10 A.M. for $35.  On the day of the show, the price jumps to $45.
