DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Pilar Sanders, the wife of Deion Sanders, appears ready to share her side of the story in their bitter divorce battle.
On Thursday morning, her attorney plans to ask a judge to drop a gag order, preventing anyone from talking about the case.
On Wednesday, Pilar’s attorney claimed the other side in the dispute has already violated the order, allowing for one version of events to be made public.
“If you’ve noticed one side has been violating the gag order continuously and disobeying Judge Wheless, and one side hasn’t,” said Pilar’s attorney, Larry Friedman. “So, we feel like our hands are tied at this point. We’d like to speak, but we can’t.”
Deion Sanders immediately took to Twitter after a domestic incident earlier this month, which ended with him and his wife cited for misdemeanor assault.
The gag order currently extends over all civil cases involving the Sanders family.
Pilar Sanders is also suing Deion, his daughter and his company, Prime Time Enterprises, for defamation. That case is pending and has been sealed, although many of the original claims have been dropped. Friedman said updates to the case are to come.
“Stay tuned. We are in the process of repleading the case –– adding claims and adding parties,” Friedman said.
