FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) – She’s out of Intensive Care at John Peter Smith Hospital, but doctors say a Tarrant County mother who was carjacked and run over by her own van still faces a painful recovery.
An update from the Pantego Christian Academy says that while Nina Cherry is now out of ICU, her severe injuries will make recovery a difficult uphill climb. Cherry was picking her sophomore twins up from the school when police say a suspect trying to steal computer equipment carjacked her and ended up running her over with her own Honda Odyssey.
Benjamin Rowell, 32, was arrested and now faces numerous charges in Arlington. As Cherry begins the long road to recovery, the school is asking that those who want to help buy a specially designed T-shirt. All profits will go toward her recovery –– find more information on those shirts here.
