ARLINGTON (AP) – Roy Oswalt will return to a major league mound Friday night in Texas.
The veteran right-hander will make his debut for the Rangers at home against the Colorado Rockies after starting four minor league games since signing with Texas on May 29.
Oswalt’s last major league appearance was with Philadelphia in a Game 4 loss to St. Louis in the NL Division Series. He allowed five earned runs in six innings. His threw six shutout innings against Atlanta in his last regular season appearance last Sept. 27.
Oswalt was 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA in the four minor league starts. He threw 100 pitches in his last outing, allowing six hits and two runs in six innings Sunday for Triple-A Round Rock.
