FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) –  Imagine going grocery shopping and getting a bonus concert, just for stopping by the deli. Ashley Williams hands out samples at the Frisco Kroger at Legacy and Lebanon, and sometimes she sings…really, really well.

Ashley says she told her manager she could sing, and that she would be leaving for a week in August for a singing competition in Las Vegas, the State Farm Steve Harvey morning show, new star project. She’s a finalist.

Her manager put Ashley to the test and made an announcement over the intercom, asking Ashley to sing for the store, and Ashley knocked it out of the park. She also plans to try out for the Voice in July when auditions are held in August.

Ashley says it humbles her when she breaks into song and draws a crowd. “It lets me know this gift isn’t just for me. I’ve actually had people come up and tell me that they had a bad day. Then they heard my voice and it cheered them up.”
