PARKER (AP) - The renewed interest in oil scoundrel J.R. Ewing and the rest of the “Dallas” clan has attracted more visitors to their TV-show home.

The nearly 350-acre ranch in Parker known as Southfork has had a spike in visitors since the updated show premiered June 13. The real ranch complex, located about 20 miles northeast of Dallas, is an event center that’s open to the public.

Janna Timm with property manager Forever Resorts says weekday tourism numbers have doubled, to about 300 visitors daily. The exterior of the house is featured on the show, while interior scenes are shot elsewhere.

The original “Dallas” series ran from 1978-1991 on CBS. The new show airs Wednesday nights on the TNT cable network.
